	Recycling collection trailers are located on the north side of the main road down canyon from the Alta Fire Station.

Garbage & Recycling

Due to the exceptional weather and setting of the Town of Alta, many building locations provide unique challenges for garbage removal. The Town does not offer garbage collection as a municipal service. Residents & businesses are required to make private arrangements for removal of their garbage.

The Town of Alta is committed to recycling and effective 5/1/07, the Town of Alta contracted with Salt Lake County to collect our recyclable materials.  There are two collection bins open 24 hours a day, located on the north side of the main road down canyon from the Fire Station/Community Center building.

Please place the following materials into the bin:

Newspaper         Plastics (including plastic bags)

Steel cans          Cardboard

Cereal boxes     Aluminum cans

Tin cans              All paper

Milk jugs             Soap boxes 

Please help us conserve space in the recycling bin by crushing boxes and aluminum cans.

Please DO NOT place the following items in the bin: glass, food, clothing, styrofoam, packing peanuts, wood, lawn clippings or leaves, rubber, carpeting, electronics or hazardous materials.
